The Format of the OET Speaking test

In the OET speaking test you will need to perform two role plays in the role of a healthcare professional, while an interlocutor will play the role of the patient. Each of these role-plays are timed to last for 5 minutes, and before both you will have three minutes to plan. To help you plan you role you will be given a cue card with several prompts.

OET Speaking Assessment

The speaking part of the OETS exam grades a candidate’s ability to gather and then transmit information effectively in a clinical environement. Alongside this the test-taker is marked on their ability to stick to a structure that is effective and clear to the patient.
