Dependant prepositions for OET

Use the dependant prepositions on this page to help you in the writing section of your OET exam.

Verb + preposition

Verb + by

Reviewed – In two weeks Mrs Jones will be reviewed by the dietician. Please ensure she attends this meeting.

Verb + into

Discharged – As mr Jones is being discharged into your care today, we are providing him with a walker until his meeting with the physiotherapist at the weekend.

Verb + with

Treated – Mrs Martin’s Asthma is usually treated with an inhaler, but since the operation she has been receiving oxygen.

Verb + for

Prescribed – A daily 2mg dose of diazepam has been prescribed for the next two weeks.

Verb + on

Depends – At the moment she depends on her daughter for support with household chores. However, her daughter has found a job abroad and will be moving at the end of next months. Therefore, a needs assessment needs to be done within the next couple of weeks.

Verb + under

Placed –  However she experienced acute breathlessnes and was placed under observations for 48 hours.
