British Learning Academy – Summer Schools in Bristol and Portsmouth, 2026
If you're planning to visit England to study English at a British Council-accredited school next summer, the British Learning Academy (BLA) in Bristol or Portsmouth is an excellent choice. They offer seasonal English language courses for international students of all levels.
BLA provides 15–20 hours of English tuition per week, with engaging morning classes focused on communication and fluency. Afternoons are dedicated to a variety of sports, social events, and cultural activities, giving students the chance to practise English in real-life situations.
Each week includes a full-day excursion to London or another major destination, or two half-day trips to explore local attractions.

Visas
Everyone is entitled to study in the UK on a short-term study visa for up to six months. Citizens of the EU, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico do not need a visa to study in the UK for short courses.
If you’re from another country, you may need to apply for a short-term study visa, which costs approximately £200. Applications can be made up to 3 months before your course starts, and processing usually takes about one month.
Students under 18 must show they have made arrangements for travel and accommodation before applying. British Learning Academy provides on-site accommodation, so this requirement is easily met. Parents must also show proof of funds via bank statements to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI).

Study English at BLA Bristol Clifton College Campus
The British Learning Academy offers two stunning UK study locations. One is Clifton College — a prestigious public school in Bristol, famous for its beautiful architecture and excellent facilities. During the summer, the college hosts international students for English language programmes through BLA.

Study English at BLA Portsmouth University Campus
British Learning Academy also offer the option of studying English on the modern campus of Portsmouth University on the beautiful south-coast of England.
