The IELTS exam

The IELTS exam is an international academic English test. It consists of four tests, each of which corresponds to one of the four skills necessary to master any language: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The first three of these exams take place in an exam hall and you will be with other students also taking their exam. However the speaking test takes place in a classroom, office, or other quiet place and it will be a one-to-one situation – just you and an IELTS examiner.

The order of the test will be Listening first, followed by Reading, then Writing and lastly the Speaking test. The Listening and lasts for half an hour, whereas the Reading and Writing test will last for one hour. The speaking part of the IELTS exam will take about quarter of an hour.
