IELTS Birmingham Number 1 – The Brasshouse
The Brasshouse is the most famous language college in the Midlands. In September of 2016 it moved from an old Georgian building on Sheepcote street to the first floor of the brand new Library of Birmingham
Run by Birmingham City Council this college has a range of language courses to suit your individual needs. Other than their fantastic modern location another reason to study at the Brasshouse is that their IELTS classes are genuinely mixed nationality which means there is much more English spoken both inside and outside of class between students.
Before you join their classes a member of staff will thoroughly assess your level of English and help you decide what you ned to do to improve your IELTS score. With this in mind they will work with you to develop your own IELTS syllabus and study program. Most of their classes take place on weekday afternoons and they will encourage you to use the resources in the Library of Birmingham and also to visit the many cultural centres that are only a stones throw away. They organise college trips and encourage their students to ensure that learning takes place both inside and outside of the classroom.

IELTS Birmingham Number 2 – South and City College Birmingham
South and City College offer an intensive General English with IELTS course. This course is aimed at students who are hoping to move from Intermediate to Advanced English level. If you sign on for 25 hours a week the fee is 250 pound per week – exactly £10 an hour. another benefit is that the course can lead to a City and Guilds ESOL Speaking and Listening Qualification. The South and City College website suggests average class sizes are 16 per class.
Classes take place in the Fusion Centre, Digbeth.

IELTS Birmingham Number 3 – The Language Gallery
The Language Gallery Birmingham are a private language school that have branches across the UK. The Birmingham Branch offer IELTS preparation courses that you can join at any time of the year. These courses cover all four areas of the IELTS exam: Listening. Speaking, Reading and Writing. As part of your IELTS course you may choose to join a host family and go on one of the many outings and trips that form part of the curriculum. The Language Gallery accept students from all over the world and are experienced in helping students from the Middle East achieve the score they need to be accepted on a university course.

Winsor Education are a small language school that have recently opened a branch in Birmingham City Centre. They provide separate male and female IELTS classes for students who want to study in single-sex classes. None of the English classes are mixed and usually the male and female students study on separate floors. The IELTS tutors at Winsor Education have many years experience and the classes are small, so you will find it is good value for money.

Need to improve your IELTS score quickly? Then you could try one of the Rivers of Gold IELTS courses based on Broad Street in Birmingham city centre. Rivers of Gold are a new college in Birmingham that provide IELTS training and IELTS preparation courses. Although their focus is on providing access to higher education for immigrants and asylum seekers their classes are open to all and are the perfect choice if you would like to study IELTS in a relaxed and friendly environment. IELTS Birmingham Number 6 – Birmingham College
Birmingham College is a privately owned IELTS training provider based in the historic Birmingham Midlands Institute on Margaret Street. Their location is perfect for students living in the centre of Birmingham as their offices are just off New Street, and just a five minute walk from the train station. They are also just a short stroll from the New Library and the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery (BMAG). In general their students are young Kuwaitis and Saudi Arabians who are in Birmingham to take the IELTS so they can go to a British university. However, they do accept students of all ages and from all backgrounds. They also provide private Business English classes and also General English training courses.
